I am giving away my big secret on this one! I use a store bought cheesecake and dress it up for a delicious Christmas dessert! I am not kidding, I take this dessert to family gatherings, Christmas parties, New Years Eve’s celebrations, church parties, work parties… you get the idea! It is so easy and so good. You can also use this topping on a Pumpkin Pie at Thanksgiving. I love the easy button on this one and you will, too!
Ginger Streusel-Topped Cheesecake
1 cup coarsely crushed gingersnaps 1/2 cup butter, softened 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1 Tbsp. finely chopped crystallized ginger 1 (30oz.) frozen New York style cheesecake (I use Sara Lee)
Combine first five ingredients, mixing well with a spoon. Sprinkle streusel over top of frozen cheesecake. Bake at 425 for 16 to 19 minutes or until streusel is browned. Scoop warm cheesecake into serving bowls.
