I have so much on my heart and mind this rainy Friday morning. Mainly Jesus. I was on the phone yesterday with a friend and said, ”Without Jesus, I would be such a mess.” I think it’s easy to say things like that, but yesterday, I stopped and really thought about it. Without Jesus, all of us would be a mess! (Can I get an amen?) Our reality would be summed up with words like lost, desperate, alone, hopeless, helpless, frightened, forgotten, and afraid. But Jesus! The Angel appeared to the shepherds and said, ”Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you: He is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:10-11)
Jesus came. He lived. He died. He rose again.
Because of Jesus, our reality can be summed up with words like found, loved, protected, provided for, transformed, changed, wanted, set free, hope-filled, chosen, included, and sent out to tell others about our Savior.,
One of my favorite songs to sing at Christmas is not a typical Christmas song. It speaks of Jesus, only Jesus
"Who has the power to raise the dead? Who can save us from our sin? He is our hope, our righteousness Jesus, only Jesus"
"Who can make the blind to see? Who holds the keys that set us free? He paid it all to bring us peace Jesus, only Jesus"
"Who can command the highest praise? Who has the name above all names? You stand alone, I stand amazed Jesus, only Jesus"
"Holy, King almighty Lord Saints and angels all adore I join with them and bow before Jesus, only Jesus"
This Christmas season are you ready to celebrate Jesus, only Jesus? Do you know Him as your Savior? Has He set you free? If so, focus on Him and share His love with everyone you meet. If not, you can! He came to save you from yourself and your sin. He loves you and has a plan for your life. Confess your sin, turn from trusting in yourself for what you need, and trust that Jesus can and will save you. He paid the price for all of our sins by dying on the cross! The perfect Son of God took our place and died the death we deserved in order to give us a life full of God's hope and peace. It seems so simple to say that all you need to do is ask Jesus to save you and change your life forever, but that is the beauty of the gospel. Once we realize we can't save ourselves and only God can, we can cry out to God for help! Sweet friend, you can celebrate the true meaning of Christmas today and forever. Jesus is alive and He is at work in you. You are not alone and are loved with an everlasting love. As you continue to follow Jesus, connect with a local church in your city that teaches the Bible. Tell them about your desire to follow Jesus. They will help you know the next step to take!
I am so thankful for you and Jesus, only Jesus!
